Alexander CHANT born 12/11/1845 bp 07/12/1845 came to Australia in 1855 when he was only 9 years old. He married 10.03.1867 Ruth Jennings (born and baptised 06/02/1848 Saint Just In Penwith, Cornwall, daughter of John J and Jane S Jennings) in South Australia. Alexander and Ruth had:

18/12/1867   William Henry born in Watervale SA. William married in 1888 Estha Creech in Young SA. They had the following children:-

        1889 – 1889 Warren
        1890 – Violet R married 1912 Frederick G Guster at Broken Hill

        During their short marriage William and Esther moved to Broken Hill but sadly Esther passed
        away in 1893 leaving William with a 3 year old child to look after. Between 1893 and 1897
        William and his daughter Violet returned to South Australia.

        On 10/03/1897 William Henry married Rachael Daw COON. They were married in South Australia
        and then later travelled to Western Australia where William worked on major buildings in Perth
        such as G.P.O in Perth. He remained in W.A. timber cutting, but died young of a heart attack.

        Sadly William's only child to survive to adulthood was Violet.
