He married 16/08/1881 Elizabeth Williams (pictured above as a mature woman), in Liverpool, Lancashire.  Robert and Elizabeth came to Australia in 1881 leaving Mary with Elizabeth's parents in Wales. Mary was to come to Australia after 1891 as she was still with her Grandparents (Williams) when the 1891 census was carried out. The family lived in Gympie, Queensland where most of the children attended the Gympie Primary School.
